Aug 7, 2021 — We bid adieu to a gnarly Scapegoat month and usher in a Yang Fire Monkey month 丙申. The Primate indicates the onset of Autumn and the Mid-Point of the Chinese New Year. Followed by a New Moon in Leo on Aug 8, which marks the beginning of the seventh lunar month. Known to the Ancients as Skills Month and depicted in paintings by the pairing of a Kingfisher and Lotus.
Looking back it’s fair to say Goat clash month, triggered a barrage of predictions into reality. As I write, three States in Australia are in lockdown. Did you follow our trigger date posts on Social media? Lockdown announcements were like clockwork! Sadly the toll on mental health fronts is palpable - Lifeline has had its biggest influx of calls since it opened its doors in 1963 (noting Lifeline was two years in planning, so its also having a sexagenary return). Mental Health was a key theme in our forecast. The new buzz phrase of ‘Zero Covid’ cases and freedom implications (also predicted back in Jan 2021) is now a daily headline. Here in NSW, the Australian Defense Forces have been called to arms (Pun intended!), the military and authoritarian roles are Ox aligned professions. Not to mention the Army’s role in the 1961 Babies and Breadwinners, role out in the US . And, our highlighted ‘Conflict Cycles’ have proven equally as topical.
‘…..akin to Sovereignty positions, stately leaders or the military. Roles that command authority and high ranking . . . . ‘Today’s Wars may be metaphorical Wars - such as the fight for our liberty and freedom of movement or speech; our enemy may not be a Country or a State but a virus and the forced imprisonment we now know possible and our liberty to travel suppressed.’
Even Gladys (NSW Premier), has been following a similar narrative re tools at our disposal - ‘We also have the vaccine as our two main weapons of getting to a place where we can live more freely and certainly’. You’ll find all this predictions and more in Part 1 & Part 2 of our Annual predictions.
YANG FIRE MONKEY Month 2021 :: 7th Aug-8th Sept.
Before I delve in let me start by saying Monkey’s are clear sighted. But they have a tendency to flavour the truth. I’ll be calling it, as I see it. Anything else is akin to robbing you blind of the truth — another classic narrative you’ll see unfold over the course of the month. As we head into Primate governed territory till Sept. 8, blow back from Goat month still lingers. Like the Goat, the Monkey also calls the South West (SW) direction, home — although it’s off axis to the yearly Ox (NE), so friction is less targeted. That said, the SW/NE axis called the Gate of Mysteries is still activated. The beginning of Monkey month heralds the Mid-Point of the Chinese New Year. With Chinese seasons beginning at the midpoints between the solstices and equinoxes, which correspond with yin inter-cardinal positions on the Chinese Lo’pan (compass). The transitional position from Summer to Autumn correlates to the SW direction; specifically the centre degree of the Kun ☷ trigram. As we head into Autumn — a Metal season — we sing from an identical hymn sheet, as the governing Annual Feng Shui energies are also Metal (#6). Therefore reinforcing annual themes and topics.
It’s remarkable that Hexagram #12 ䷋ which governs the Seventh Lunar month should also echo and mirror exact elements and themes. Translated as STANDSTILL - STAGNATION, notably the Hexagram is made up of the aforementioned Kun ☷ Earth trigram on the base, and it’s polar opposite of Heaven ☰6, sitting on top. Trigrams combine. Pure Yin and Pure Yang unite to trigger — patriarchal, speech, lung, mind and mental health, loneliness and judgement themes. Which in turn meld with — matriarchal, frugality, division of, transformation and support themes. One translation of this hexagram describes it as -
‘although we are dealing with time conditions, the cause is, nevertheless, to be sought in the wrong course sought by man. It is man who spoils things apart from the cyclic course of nature. . . . (translation by R. Wilhelm).
Again, I’m blown away by the accuracy of a Chinese Classic (iChing) in relation to unfolding COVID lockdowns! It looks like a month of Standstill — a Stalemate till at LEAST Sept. 8 (much longer I’m predicting, but that’s for Rooster forecast, which takes us to Oct 8th!). South West regions, be it globally, locally or within home/business confines, we’ll feel the dividing winds of Kun. ISO situations will test, and division is likely. Be it divided opinions, minds, separation or divided politics and policies. Sydneysiders take note, the evasive SW hotspot will remain in a state of stalemate, as folks mouth phases like ‘not giving a monkeys’, or ‘wanting to talk to the organ grinder not the monkey’.
The Month Pillar has Fire on top of Metal -fire controls and melts metal. With spontaneity suppressed, antsy apes become restless and impatient when bored and hemmed in. The Covid climate of hampering movement and mobility will likely spark meltdowns. But good news for Fire industries and Fire Daymasters, because well wielded Metal represents your wealth. Like we said before, a 2021 theme of ‘putting things on Plastic (a fire element) use of money (metal) shall be utilized heavily, as hard cash use declines’ the contact-less interaction even more emphasized at the moment. Not surprising AfterPay and other plastic cards . . . . are headlining at the moment. Expect Cryptocurrency to headline and jam up your news feeds. See Annual forecast for more professions that could prosper.
The BaZi chart also sees the presence of Yang Metal and Yin Metal, both alluding to warrior themes and weapons - be they metal bullets, swords and daggers or even needles. But sharp ‘words’ are equally likely and lethal - due to Metal’s correspondence to Speech. Comms are generally precise, direct and on point. But when trapped and controlled, they are lacking in desirable swift actionable decisions. Given the primates political tendencies the world stage maybe awash with babbling baboons speaking politics with a dash of half truths. Sadly, loose tongued falsity, goes hand in glove with monkey mouths. Expect joker’s to deliver fibs and monkey business to prevail. Freedom, especially related to Movement and Speech will dominate the narrative. In times of detention fatigue, gorilla (guerilla) warfare can sadly rear its ugly head.
The swish of a sword slicing through air, mirrors the quick, agile mind of the Monkey. The term ‘Monkey mind’ comes from a Buddhist phrase, when the mind is unsettled, restless and indecisive. The quest is to quieten grey matter. Amidst juggling work and homeschooling you may feel like you’re swinging from the monkey bars and solo meditation time futile. If tribe time trumps, dull the din and pick up some sticks — of the metal knitting needle variety. In fact, keeping hands nimble is key to successfully navigating this month’s terrain. The Primate does bring up the notion of pivoting - arguably the most agile, skillful and thus adaptable, so are you primed to pivot? Follow the Primates lead and change tack.
Another character trait among primates, is that of preening. It’s a specific behaviour to keep their mates healthy - this speaks to the devil in the detail. Remain sharp and quick, as the details are fluid and changes on a dime. Primates are uber independent, yet equally love social interaction and hanging with their tribe. Looking out for others in these unusual times. Other favoured professions of Metal peeps are sales superstars, ambassadors or spokespeople. Expect Spin - as wordsmiths smooth over the edges and beguile with glossy, shiny pitches and, omit the devilish details and fine print. Mirror the monkey, be pedantic even nitpick and pinpoint scenarios from all angles.
The cheeky, cheesy, teeth bearing chimp grin, will grate on just about everyone’s nerves. To that point, mind your nashers, dental trips maybe necessary. Dentist’s could be busy. And marketing creator Mailchimp, could make noteworthy headlines, while newsworthy chronicles relating to Sierra Leone, Peru and Japan will feature in some capacity.
In silver lining news, if you were born in years ending with a Zero (0), then this month is your lucky Money month. If you were born in the year of the Rat, Dragon, Monkey then this month’s energies should suit you best. While those born in Snake years or months (May) may find a harmonious soulmate energy with the Primate. The Pig and Tiger may Clash and find the month combative.
FENG SHUI :: 7th Aug-8th Sept
On a global level and (within our homes/businesses) the focus falls to closing degrees of the South West of the SW3 sector. Just like last month the NE/SW axis is lit up, as per the aforementioned ‘Gates of Mysteries’. The monthly star line up of Earth digits 2,5,8 also echoing their domicile positions and emphasizes this axis. If your abode or business has major rooms, entrances or a facing/sitting axis tied up in SW3, you’ll feel the shift.
Honing in on the numerics of the SW sector, we see the star that fundamentally tests our constitution (№2 ), team up with irritable Monthly №5. This buddy bubble is never a favourable union. Adding the argumentative №3, it’s likely to trigger coupledom and relationship flareups - it’s going to feel uber tetchy. Health wise the tail winds indicate keeping your anger in check. Voices maybe raised. Big or small picture, local or global, that translates as angry raised voices over sickness. As always, avoidance where possible, but unlikely with every square inch in use during lockdown situations, so REMOVE all fiery items and red objects.
From a technical Feng Shui understanding, the SW is said to underpin the SE. It’s especially relevant that the malefic №5 crops up in both sectors. Two things I’d expect to see - Academia/Careers will be affected in SE, as #5 muddies the water and #7 is a classic robbery and isolation star, so peeps may feel isolated and robbed of education. And secondly, potential seeding of illness perhaps, involving young females? The East sector holds a similar story of isolation and schooling. On a personal note I was curious re NSW Homeschooling - this alignment signals, no end in sight in Monkey month which ends on Sept 8th. (More insight on that front when I look at Rooster and Dog Month.)
Returning to the activation of the NE/SW axis, we see the NE (home of the Ox) hosts the №2 star this month. Focuses falls on potential health obstacles. NE sectors, regions etc could begin to feel the heat of hotspots. This could be wellness related fanning inflammation issues or real Fire related occurrences at home in this sector or on global fronts.
And Finally to end on a lighter note, the West and Centre this month are the peachiest of zones to hang out in. If your front door lines up with the West direction, fortune might favour you as this duo could bring coin to your door this month - Looking to the Centre sectors, the lungs are governed by the Metal element so it remain a 2021 year long signature, intensify in Monkey month as metal is in season. But the 6-8 combo, forms two parts of the trifecta of 1-6-8.
In summary, the Ox lobbies for security and stability while the chimp favours fantasy and movement. Can the gibbon handle its impulses? If the will is present, doors are open and a nimble ninja could just swing it in its favour.
