As any astro forecaster will tell you, we’re time travellers. Time lines blur, so patterns and themes can emerge. Despite owning a 10,000 year calendar; the struggle to recall the current year is real! But one constant is August 7/8; the Solar midpoint of the Chinese year. June’s Solstice is another halfway point, falling under Horse’s purview. Hence a timely midterm review of Fire Horse predictions. Noting forecasts were written in Mar 2025, eleven months before Fire Horse began. Many prediction themes have accurately transpired. So what did the trailblazer deliver to date and what might we expect in the second half of the year?
Horse years are always fast; but there’s no denying the sheer speed and pace of events by adding fire which amplifies. In 2026 we’re measuring time in nano seconds — no surprise then that the first stopwatch was made in 1822 horse year; then an earlier version was discovered from 1816, a Rat year. Astro fiends will know Rat and Horse mark the two Solstice points when the solar light ‘stops’ and standstill. But it’s the opening lines of astro forecasts that distills themes. Last year’s keyword was an on point ‘Woke’. This year’s Fire Horse opener, gives a taste of what we’d expect;
“ Aesop pontificated if it’s possible to have too much of a good thing. This year tests the probability. We’ve reached a zenith, an interlude — before crossing the Rubicon. “
● CROSSING RED-LINES AND THE RUBICON
Every year we cross the Rubicon at the seasonal June solstice but this year underscores Rubicon moments. Crossing Red lines and the Rubicon nods to big, marked changes. . . “it’s the grit to maintain Bloodlines, bravery to draw Battlelines and the will to cross the Red line (DEFCON adopted ’66)”. So far this year, headlines have shown literal and figurative battlelines drawn. Be it warfare, global leaders announcing Red lines were crossed or political sporting quagmires with a infamous Red card overturned. Or FIFA crossing the Rubicon with a sale stake bid. The first World Cup comp was in 1930 horse year - two horses self sabotage. Crossing a Red line implies there’s no going back. For Infantio in Aug & Sept, his lcuk pillar and year are all under intense pressure. Oct & Nov see a shift.
In Liechtenstein, bloodlines were enforced on an Earth Horse day this year when succession laws changed so women may take the throne. While Japan doubled down on the male succession act. Age 9 (2024-2043) speaks to women stewards coming to the fore. While the 1966 US military Defcon levels are classified; many suggest a current level 3 — another midpoint. As the doomsday clock sits its closest ever to midnight - will we pass midnight by year end?
● POWER, OIL & STRAIT THEMES
Straight out of the gates Fire Horse “dealt big cards”. As predicted 2026’s overarching theme of Power; be it wielding authority or the interchangeable term for energy; a theme that’s quickly became apparent. As predicted 17 Feb when LNY began marked exceptionally fiery eclipse signatures. Followed by a Full moon on 28 Feb., when the Iran War broke out. Astro wise the specific day star hinted at grappling with restrictions; typically leading to entanglements, losses and conflict plus hooking and stagnation themes. As the world still grapples with energy supplies, brent crude prices spike and fluctuate, many more commodities follow this pattern. Specifically predictions —
“The behaviour of flames is mirrored in stock market candlestick graphs.
“ fossil fuel crisis renews pressure on renewable energy supplies — combust transmission lines are choke points . . .”
“Kerosene, oil drilling and two major colliery disasters all follow the archetypes signature.”
— Predictions from two 2026 Annual Fire Horse articles
Indeed major collieries incidents in China and Pakistan occurred in first half of 2026, and gold mine collapse in Zamboyé. Be it talks of oil supplies or drilling of oil at home or abroad, this signature showed up in a former Fire Horse years. Kerosene replaced Whale oil in former Fire Horse years. Nearly six months on, the fuel signature prevails and the verbatim predictions realized; in another 2026 prediction article I went one step further —
“Straits are another playground for White Horses as shipping routes become chokepoints”
“In turn, waterways, global straits, shipping lines, Suez Canal and maritime boundaries such as the Black, North, Red, Coral and South China seas are activated alongside oceanic liquid gold energy resources. Countries that share a coastline are also triggered. International submarine (water) cable lines (fire), the world’s fibre-optic lines of communication, are equally spot lit”.
— Predictions from two 2026 Annual Fire Horse articles
Be it the triangular tipped Strait of Hormuz; the ‘drill baby drill’ sentiment in US State of the union address; Ukraine/ Russia Black Sea oil strikes, the push for UK to consider North Sea oil drilling; or the Hotuti’s attacks in Yemen and Red Sea attacks as a newer chokepoint they all follow the theme — Yemens’ unification chart is triggered and host of other astro signatures relating to Horse, so is Djibouti. Meanwhile Australia’s WA feasibility studies into the first domestic refinery since 1966 — the former fire horse year, when BP’s Crib point pipeline went online.
Another key point of reference which lead to above predictions (and unfortunately wasn’t include in my final edits) was Horse Latitudes. The term ‘flogging a dead horse’ relates back to sailors who were paid one month’s wages in advance of a long voyage. Crew then worked first month at sea without pay. . . crew reset once they hit the horse latitudes near the Equator marking with horse effigy ritual. Ironically, Iran lies on Horse latitudes; and the zodiacal Horse another half way point. In 2026 the stranded ships in Strait of Hormuz echo this theme — months pass; ‘standing still’ like the interlude of Solstice point extending — which likely will remain into 2027. Oil is a fuel that burns wildly and Fire Horse needs fuel. Globally countries reestablish or establish Power/ energy themes. The Red Sea and Suez will likely be triggered by year end. Hopefully the ‘world’s fibre-optic lines of communication’ prediction is positive; although thrust into headlines as internet is held hostage to geopolitical tensions — but that’s for another post.
● SUN VERSES SOLAR
Astrologically speaking, Horse is akin to … “high noon on the midsummer solstice, when solar energies standstill — before slowly declining, seeding yin. This year’s overtly fiery horse frenetically presses the point. Amplifying the interlude between yang and yin”.
Said differently, Fire Horse is arguably likened to 2026 as a long stretch of peak Solstice vibes and solar related. The two key elements of the year are like —
“Two Suns compete — clinging and fighting for independence and supremacy.”
“Fire is energetic and futuristic, it’s forte is to outshine, even upstaging itself; think nuclear fusion (artificial suns) replacing sunrays and electricity for flame.”
— Prediction from two 2026 Annual Fire Horse articles
Ironically as Horse month drew to a close, and two astro horse conjoined creating a self sabotage signature; on 9 July 2026 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the launch of a hugely controversial giant satellite mirror into space. The mirror reflects sunlight over an area of three miles wide, back onto the earth surface - AFTER the sun has gone down! Interrupting nocturnal habits; leaving parts of the globe elementally switch on. Now if that’s not a prime example of two suns competing and peak solstice I don’t know what is ⸻ apart from Nuclear power. As highlighted in forecasts;
“Fire Horse’s lengthy legacy with energy is however greatly tied to its nemesis — water; via steam, hydro, nuclear cooling, even power hungry AI needs vast quantities of water. Discussions of desalination and water rationing become equally topical.”
“Power, forged from the furnace of the Fire Horse is harnessed as energy. But sources of fuel to generate power stations or fuel transport are hotly debated; reaching fever pitch in 2026.”
— Prediction from two 2026 Annual Fire Horse articles
Nuclear headlined 2026 theme via infrastructure facilities were the apparent catalyst for the Iran war. May saw UAE reactors hit by drone strike and Ukraine/Russia war plays out against Nuclear plants backdrops. July Nuclear reactors in Hungry, Romania, France Switzerland forced shut downs as water required to cool hits record lows. The same is said for these European countries having water restrictions in addition to Germany, Greece, Belgium, UK, Ireland and parts of USA.
AI data center have hit fever pitch, 44% in US alone and Australia mandates new centers will need to use renewables to power centers while a hot debate still simmers around land used to house centers. Water uses; in historically drought prone countries another equally valid concern. Before the war broke out Iran declared in Nov. 2025 that the capital should move as drought creeps. Now in a war zone, is this likely to happen?
● ENVIRONMENT & CLIMATE
As the opening title pontificated - “is too much of a good thing?” The prediction of ‘when it’s good it’s very, very good and when it’s bad, it’s horrid’, born out in reasonable hankering for a good weather, only to deliver extreme heat, wildfires and extreme flash floods. A key driver is the excess themes coming to the fore. The prefix extended to excess joy, excess heat, fire, power, sport, tech . . . take your pick. As the old adage goes ‘too much laughing ends in crying’ — which speaks to joyous extremes; that always flip to polar opposites.
“Moisture brings a balancing antidote to a scorched landscape; however water is fire’s nemesis.” Desalination processes are energy hungry; pressure grows to use less fossil fuel power to produce drinkable water. Ironically nuclear is considered the preferred choice to power desalination, while operation are small scale a big commercial option isn’t here yet. Given that drought related issues impacting water supply to nuclear this year perhaps this is up for debate. The largest complex is Shoaiba Plant in Saudi Arabia, located near the Red Sea. Jordon has the second largest plant and a new solar powered reverse osmosis measure that reduces environment pressures up to 91% ! Even the world ocean temperate has reached its highest temperature on record — 21.1℃. Also Australia’s SE capitals have had it’s warmest Winter on record. Historical Newspapers records in 1846, a former Fire Horse year reported in Jan. Melbourne temp of 49℃ and in Dec Launceston 57℃. History repeats.
“On the flip side floods feature first half of year; summer is peak fruition maybe even oversupply. Snake put us on notice — heat waves bring severe drought by year-end.”
“Excessive water controls excessive fire; implying forceful floods while mercury hits extremes. Wild fires leave arid paddocks as drought creeps – South/SE regions emphasized; April, May, September and January spotlit.
In Southeast Asia there’s an excess of Durian, the prickly, pungent fruit; a severe national oversupply of Cherries in Chile (South America) and Avocados in Australia (southern Hemisphere). Potatoes cook in the soil in South Korea. Spring has barely sprung here in Australia — the story still untold.
Europe has especially high temperatures this year, in turn it’s led to droughts and wild fires in countries we normally don’t hear of wildfires or prone to drought — Southern and South Eastern areas as predicted. France, Italy and Spain hit by increasingly high temperatures Italy and Portugal, Ireland and UK all with red warning notices. Under the same skies in 1666 the Great Fire of London occurred.
El Nino officially declared in June 2026 - upgraded to super prefix; yet the writing was on the wall when I penned astro forecasts. As Europe’s South, South East burns — China floods in NW the other sensitive axis spot. Oman flood also. Landslides for China and Kerala, quakes for Japan and Venezuela thus far. An a recent catastrophic Nepal Tibet flash flood also lies directly on Horse latitudes. Tibet Horse latitude countries bare the brunt. Egypt, Libya (water crisis), Algeria (wildfires) as well as Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Iran. Australia’s southern half is also in a direct line of fire.
● CALLING CARD
I closed a 2026 forecast with a pretty on point warning theme —
"Nine is fire’s calling card, emphasised as 999, the oldest emergency number. Dispatchers answer “What’s your emergency?” calls and rapid responders send in the cavalry."
And on 27 July, for the first time ever a loud 10-second critical emergency warning was sent to every smart phone device in Australia. The National AusAlert system issued a test text for future natural disasters; be it fire, floods, health crisis, biosecurity or security threats an alarm siren forewarns. As our cousins around the globe battle Mother Nature. Let's hope Southern Hemisphere Summers are kinder. Stand by as from Sept 7, we get a preview of what 2027 will deliver.
True to Fire Horse’s form many predictions were realized very quickly. But there’s more so I’ll end here on a TO BE CONTINUED — Part Two to follow in due course. Remembering prediction were written nearly 11 month before horse year began!
